The Lizard is a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty that boasts a plethora of things to do. Your hosts will be happy to organise activities or point you in the right direction to organise your own, whether it be walking, family days out to the beach or visiting local attractions, we will use our local knowledge to help you make the most of your time here.

Landewednack House is situated adjacent to the South West Coast Path, so don your hiking boots and explore some the most staggering and dramatically beautiful coastline that the UK has to offer. If you fancy catching your dinner, fishing trips run from the nearby Cadgwith cove, an unspoilt fishing village located 3 miles away, also a prime spot for snorkeling, bathing and a picnic with a view. Sailors should head on down to Helford, situated on the beautiful Helford River. If you fancy surfing, windsurfing or any other watersports, you’ll find most on offer at Coverack.

The Lizard peninsula and indeed south Cornwall also plays host to many fine, sandy beaches and secluded coves. Kynance Cove is renowned for being one of the most beautiful beaches in the United Kingdom, and is situated a 5 minute drive from Landewednack. Alternatively, there is Kennack Sands, located 4 miles away, with its delightful golden sands and dog friendly area of the beach.

Nature enthusiasts can spot rare birds and coastal wildlife, and discover a landscape of wild and beautiful flora that has flourished in the temperate climate.

Art and culture vultures can visit a cluster of fine galleries in St Ives, Newlyn and Penzance, or catch an open-air performance at the famous Minack Theatre carved into the cliffs at Porthcurno. Garden enthusiasts will be dazzled by the array of lush plantsmans’ plots scattered across the area. There are several National Trust and privately owned properties and gardens to visit, all within a 30 minute drive or the renowned Eden Project, which is an hour distant.

Gourmet travelers’ can choose from a smorgasbord of fine restaurants (that is if you can bear to walk away from the sumptuous dinner offered at Landewednack House).
